Projects Completed with Circle Support

The funds raised by the memorable 125th Anniversary Renaissance Ball were directed towards the acquisition of two major works of art for the Gallery’s permanent collection - Salviati’s David and Virgin and Child with an Angel.  The latter was made possible in part thanks to the geneous support of the National Gallery of Canada's Volunteers' Circle.

The funds raised also served to support the National Gallery of Canada’s travelling exhibitions program and educational art programs for children.

Salviati’s Virgin and Child with an Angel, c. 1535-1539 was purchased in 2005 with the support of the Volunteer Circle of the National Gallery of Canada and the National Gallery of Canada Foundation Renaissance Ball Patrons, for the Gallery's 125th Anniversary.
