Docents
Docents and “guides bénévoles” are volunteer guides who lead visits for children in Grades 1 to 6, and provide daily talks on individual works of art, as well as special sessions to inform all visitors. These volunteers receive regular training under Gallery staff, and spend time studying and preparing for their duties. High standards are maintained. The duties of the volunteer guides complement those of the Gallery’s professional staff.
Docent’s Choice, 10-minute talks in English on a single work of art, are presented in the galleries weekdays at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm (with additional talks on Thursdays at 5:30 and 6:30 pm) and weekends at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Le choix du guide-bénévole, 10-minute talks in French on a single work of art, are presented weekdays at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm (with additional talks on Thursdays at 5:30 and 6:30 pm) and weekends at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Talks are free with Gallery admission.
