At this time, we are not actively  recruiting volunteers. Thank you for your interest in supporting the National Gallery of Canada.

Volunteers Behind the Scenes

Some volunteers work under Gallery staff supervision in various Gallery departments, in the Library and Archives. They also assist in special exhibitions and events.

How to join the Volunteer Office

1. Become a Member of the Gallery. All volunteers are required to be Members of the Gallery. For a reasonable annual fee, payable at the Membership Desk in the Gallery Lobby, members are admitted to the Gallery and special exhibitions without charge, and receive a discount on parking fees and bookstore purchases.

2. Request a volunteer application form from the Volunteer Office, complete and return.  If you have special skills or experience, additional information in the form of a brief resume will allow you to choose a program to best suit your interests.

3. The Volunteer Office, at 613-990-0130, will be pleased to provide application forms and answer any questions you may have, or use the contact us form.
